Summer Institute III: SPDC E-Projects
Dates: August 4 - August 15, 2003
1 Court Street, Exeter, NH
Time: M-F, 8:00-4:00
Stipend for each Institute III participant: $800
Stipend for administering the project during the 03-04 school year: $800 total (can be divided between or among team members)
Budget: A one-time budget of approximately $1,200 will be available for each e-project team
Requirements: Teacher or administrator in any SAU 16 school district, attend 10-day institute

APPLICATION
Individuals or teams of teachers and/or administrators are eligible to apply for this institute. Each member should complete a separate application. Only one narrative is required for each team.
The intent of this institute is to provide teachers with the time and resources necessary to design and facilitate on-line courses for other educators during the 2003-2004 school year. You must agree to the following requirements of this program:
ž I will attend all ten training days
ž I am a teacher or administrator employed by an SAU 16 school district
ž I have basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office® and Internet Explorer®
ž I, or my team, agree to facilitate this e-course during the 03-04 school year. In return, each team will receive an $800 stipend.
I will receive the following:
ž $800 for completing the two weeks of training
ž One-time budget of approximately $1,200
ž 80 hours of professional development credit
ž Access to WebCT
Please submit a 1-page narrative that is organized as follows (only 1 required per team):
· Title of project
· Team members
· Description of e-project
· Description of how this project will involve collaborative interaction with other schools via the Internet
· Tentative schedule for the 03-04 school year.
Please submit a 1-page, or less, budget narrative which explains how the one-time budget will be expended.
Application approval procedure:
· This is a competitive application process as there are limited seats available due to budget restrictions.
· Applications will be judged on the quality of the application and potential impact on students.
· Open seats will be made available to other SAU districts which have committed to joining the SPDC consortium once all SAU 16 applications have been processed
