You can install the FirstClass Client itself at home. This means you can have the same software on your home computer as you do at school, and it will function the same way. If you use FirstClass a lot from home or your laptop, this would be a better access solution than using the web access.

1. Go to SAU 16's FirstClass Website (http://fc.sau16.org/ClientDownloads/) and locate the software version for your operating sytem (Windows or Mac OS).
2. Click on your choice and download (save) the software to your computer.
3. Once saved, open the file and the appropriate files will be installed.
4. After the software is installed, you need to configure your connection.
5. Open the FirstClass program and the Login Screen should appear:
6. At the Address Field on the tope line, you should have home.fc selected. If not, use the dropdown menu to select it.
7. Click on the <Setup> button on the right of the Server: line. This window should appear:
8. Fill in the following fields:
Connect Via: Select TCP-IP.FCP
User ID: Your user ID if you dont want to type it every time.
Password: It is recommended that you never use this box to store your password because then anyone who has access to your computer will have access to your FirstClass account. Leave blank.
Log in as Guest: Leave blank
Log in Automatically: Leave blank
Retry Login: Leave at 0
Retry Delay: Leave at 0
Server: Type in fc.sau16.org
Network: Leave Blank
Phone#: Leave Blank
Encryption: Leave as Default
Notifier: Leave Blank
9. Click on <Save> and you should be all set!
10. Now click on the FirstClass icon on your desktop and you should connect to the SAU 16 FirstClass Server.
