The following dates have been scheduled for
Project Prom/Project Graduation |
|
Project Prom and Project Graduation are aimed at providing safe, supervised,
chemical-free environments on both evenings following the senior prom and
graduation. The PP/PG Committee works throughout the school year to raise
funds for these evenings, as well as research, plan and organize the
activities, entertainment, food, transportation, and supervision of the
students on these special nights. These projects are funded exclusively
through fundraising and direct donations from parents and local businesses.
The Project Prom evening on June 8, 2007 involves transporting students by bus from the Prom at Atkinson Country Club back to Exeter High School where they can spend the night dancing, participating in karaoke or EHS Idol, watching Casino Royale, competing in the human jousting, bungee run, DDR, and obstacle course, as well as being entertained by a hypnotist, getting a chair massage, and playing sports in the gym. There is always lots of delicious food and nonalcoholic beverages available. Project Graduation is a similar kind of event. After graduation on June 15, the seniors spend time celebrating with friends and family. They then would be transported in chaperoned buses from EHS to Boston for a fantastic evening together aboard the Odyssey Cruise ship in Boston. This cruise features 3 levels with 2 different DJs, dancing, several fun activities, and plenty of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages. For more info, please visit the website. http://www.odysseycruises.com/boston/index.cfm. Both of these evenings are supervised by parent chaperones and police (boat security on the boat.) SENIOR PARENTS: These safe, supervised events cost approximately $50 per student per event. The suggested donation is $100.00 per senior. Historically these evenings have been very well attended and very successful! We are seeking direct parent donations at this time, as we have raised approximately 75% of the necessary funds. We wish to thank those families who have attended and participated in the various fundraising events! To date however, just 25% of senior families have made a direct donation. Please send in your check made out to PP/PG 2007 to Michelle Marnicio at EHS. Thank you! Information about becoming involved in Project Prom/Project Graduation can be obtained from Michelle Marnicio (EHS) at 395-2588 (Faculty Advisor). |
