SAU 16 Superintendent Search Information

The SAU 16 Joint Board is pleased to announce
that Michael Morgan, currently Superintendent of Schools
in Barrington NH, has agreed to serve
as our next Superintendent.
Mike will officially assume the position on July 1, 2008.

Superintendent Dr. Arthur “Skip” Hanson will be retiring following the 2007/2008 school year after 11 years of service to our community. The challenge of searching for a new Superintendent will be facilitated by a recently formed Superintendent Search Committee (SSC) comprised of a representative from each of the seven school boards, a SAU 16 Central Office administrator, a school administrator, a teacher, and two community representatives.

The search committee will next meet on Wednesday September 26th. The meeting will be held at the SAU Central Office Conference Room at 6:00 pm at the Tuck Learning Campus (TLC - old EHS at 30 Linden Street).

Initial Public Forums Held in Spring 2007:

One of the most important tasks in this lengthy search process was to identify the specific attributes of a Superintendent that are important to our community. With this in mind, the committee requested input to the following questions:

1. What characteristics, background, and experiences are important for the position of Superintendent?
2. What immediate challenges and tasks must the new Superintendent focus on?

The committee solicited input from these questions and any additional feedback/suggestions from the public through email by June 5, 2007 or through public forums. The two public forums were held Thursday May 31, 2007 and Tuesday June 5, 2007 - read combined notes from the public forums (pdf).
