Girls in Action is a group of teenage girls dedicated to helping improve
their community and beyond. They meet once a month to brainstorm ideas for
fundraisers and do projects that will benefit other organizations and their
communities. GIA is a great way to meet with friends and earn community
service hours. We have participated in such things as raking leaves for the
elderly, walking in the local breast cancer walk, assisting in various ways
for JDRF, providing entertainment for residents at a local nursing home, and
making crafts to sell to raise money for our treasury. This is just a small
sampling of things we've done. If you are interested in joining GIA please
contact Lynne Mousseau at
lynnem32@hotmail.com or Maria Cousins at
dmascousins@comcast.net. We
meet on Court St. at the Senior Center. Our new member night is Sunday,
October 5 at 7pm. We'd love to see you there!
