Due to the problems with telephone call quality at EHS, our Technology
Services Department would like to inform you of the following: “With the move
of the SAU Office, SPDC and Technology Services from 24 Front Street to 30
Linden Street there has been a noticeable impact on the VoIP telephone
quality. In addition to the move, we have had several power outages impacting
the entire network infrastructure. Currently we are working to restore
everything. At this time we have also placed calls to our vendors and they
have technicians trying to resolve the issue. Our suggestion at this time is
to email our staff and educators in order to service your needs. We are
working on a timely resolution and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.”
The NH Excellence in Education Awards recognize three SAU 16 teachers for
their exceptional service. The awards ceremony was held Saturday June 9th and
the EHS Jazz band performed at the initial reception.

The SAU #16 Offices will be closed on Monday, June 18th. The SAU Offices will
be moving June 20-21 to their new location at the Tuck Learning Campus (TLC)
at 30 Linden Street (old EHS). During this time, you may reach the switchboard
at 775-8400.
EHS report cards are anticipated to be mailed out next Friday, June 29, 2007.
EHS will be closed Friday June 22, 2007 due to a scheduled power outage. We
will resume normal hours on Monday.
EHS has many items in the lost and found including athletic wear and gear.
Please claim before the end of June or all materials will be donated to
charity.
The SAU Joint Chairs meeting previously scheduled in June conflicts with the
SAU Offices move and has been cancelled.

The EHS Blue Hawk Cheerleading 2007 fall information meeting will be
Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 7pm in the high school cafeteria. Anyone interested
in joining for the football season is encouraged to attend, including incoming
freshmen. Parents are welcome. Please call Coach Amy Gentile (603-944-6731) or
the high school athletic office with any questions.
The Exeter High School music department will be presenting it's annual POPS
Concert on Tuesday, May 22, at 7:00 in the large gym at the high school.
Featured in the performance will be the concert band, two jazz bands, chorus,
select choir and honors choir performing some very entertaining music.
Selections will include songs from Harry Potter, Count Basie, Charlie Daniels,
All that Jazz and much more. Admission is FREE.
The committee is seeking input on the Superintendent search. Contact

The beginning of road excavation work is scheduled to start Monday May 7th on
Water Street at Swasey Parkway. Bus routes have been altered and drivers
should seek alternate routes.

Wednesday May 16th, the combined bands of Kensington, East Kingston, Swasey
and Newfields Elementary Schools and the CMS Sixth Grade Band will perform at

Come to the Talbot Gym for a Small Business Showcase on Wednesday, May 16th
from 3 to 7 PM. This free event with exhibitors, door prizes and hors
d'oeuvres is open to the public, and is a collaboration between the SST

meeting of the Junior Prom Committee will be on Thursday, May 3 at 7:00 PM in

The EHS Guidance Department will host a speaker from the Center for College
Planning on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. in the EHS Auditorium. This
program is for parents of juniors and will include information about the
college search process, SAT/ACT testing, and the admissions process.
Swasey Central School does not have school today, Monday April 16th. The
school is contacting parents and those students already on buses will be
returned home.

The Lincoln Street Drama Club Presents Walt Disney's 101 Dalmations on Wed.,
April 18 and Thurs., April 19 at 6:30 PM in the Lincoln Street Cafeteria.
The college planning program for parents scheduled for tonight, Thursday April
12th has been rescheduled for Wed. May 2, 2007 at 6:30 pm in EHS auditorium.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 7 pm in the Roy
Morrisette Room of EHS. The topic for this month will be curriculum - develop,
add courses, change, and parent input.
The Exeter High School Guidance Department will sponsor "College Night For
Juniors" on Thursday, April 12th beginning at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium. This
evening is designed for parents of Students in the 11th grade. A
representative from the New
Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation will present an overview
of the college search process.
A major water main construction project will begin on April 16th that will
affect traffic flow on Water Street and Main Street.

The SAU 16 Joint School Board is accepting letters of interest from the public
for the Superintendent Search Committee. Applicants need to supply their name
and town of residence, background information, why they would like to be on
the committee and what they believe they'd contribute to the search and
selection process. Applications can be submitted by
email to Anne Marie Chesno by April 16,
2007.
Snowday schedule: V Softball is 3-5pm and V Baseball is 3-5pm at EHS.
All other Athletic activities are cancelled.
The EHS Block Scheduling Committee is reviewing our current model and is

The EHS Mission Statement Committee and Attendance Committee is looking for
more members from the community. We are just beginning to take a look at our
current mission statement and attendance policy and want to involve the
community. Next meetings are as follows: Attendance committee is 6 pm, 3/26 in
the principal's conf room of EHS. The Mission Statement Committee is meeting
on 3/29, 6:30 pm in the principal's conf room of EHS.
The next Parent Advisory Group Meeting is Wednesday March 21st. Meeting starts
at 6 pm in the library with a presentation on Dating Violence at 7 pm in the
auditorium. All parents and students are welcome to attend.

There will be a Live and Silent Auction and Raffle held on Sunday March 11,
from 12:00-5:00pm at the Exeter High School Cafeteria. Viewing will begin at
12:00pm and the auction begins at 1:00pm. There are many fantastic items
available for bid including a 4-person hot tub, spa packages, hotel, dinner,
and theater gift certificates, oriental rugs, furniture, electronics, dance

The Great Bay eLearning Charter School has scheduled two information sessions
for parents of students interested in the school and its program offerings for
the 2007-2008 school year. Both sessions will be held at the Great Bay
eLearning Charter School at 56 Linden Street, Exeter. Wednesday, March 14
7:00-8:00 PM is for SAU 16 residents and Wednesday, March 28, 7:00-8:00 PM is
for non-SAU 16 residents. The GBeCS staff will also have an information table
at the EHS New Parent Information Night on March 7 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at EHS.

Exeter High School will sponsor an informational program for parents of 8th
grade students and parents of students who have never attended Exeter High
School regarding registration for courses for the 2007-2008 school years. The
program will be held on Wednesday evening, March 7th from 7:00-9:00pm in the
EHS Auditorium. The program will be an overview of the registration course
scheduling process for EHS. Learning Area Advisors will present information
regarding course offerings and curriculum. All parents are welcome.
The Stratham Annual Town Report will not be mailed to residents this year as
in the past. The Stratham Memorial School portion of that document is
available on this website (pdf) under the Stratham School Board pages.
Printed copies of this report are also available at the municipal building in
Stratham and will be handed out at the School District Meeting.
The musical, with over 120 students involved on stage and behind the scenes,
is scheduled for Thursday, March 8th at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 9th at 7:00
p.m. and Saturday, March 10th at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $2 for adults and $1
for students and are available at the door. We even have a few brave staff
members making cameo appearances. Come on in for some fun and good music!

Exeter High seniors who are planning to further their education beyond high

The next meeting of the Parent Advisory will be held on Wed. 2/21/07 beginning

The SAU Joint Chairs meeting scheduled for this Wednesday, February 14, 2007
has been cancelled. The chairs will not meet again until after the March
elections.
The SAU 16 Joint School Board Evaluation Meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 19th at 7:00 PM at the Roy Morrisette Alumni Room of Exeter High School (315 Epping Road). This meeting convenes to a non-public session.
On Wednesday, 2/21/07, Exeter High School's Parent Advisory Group will be
hosting a presentation on MySpace.com. The presentation will begin at 7 pm in
the auditorium and will be given by County Attorney James Reams. Attorney
Reams will educate parents and students about the exposure to risks when using
this website. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. All High
School parents and students are encouraged to attend.
Friday, January 26th 6:30-10:00pm, the new EHS Auditorium will rock with
seven local bands performing. This is a fundraiser for the HS band
and cost is $8.00.
Wednesday, January 31, 2007, is the 18th Annual Homeless Vigil Candlelight
Walk to benefit people in need throughout the Exeter and Seacoast area.
Vouchers for candles can be redeemed at CMS, New Outlook Teen Center, PEA or
the Exeter Town Hall ($2.00-$5.00 donation per candle - larger donations are
accepted). The walk will begin at the Teen Center; proceed to Lincoln St.,
where they will meet members of the CMS Builders Club. The walk will then
proceed to PEA, and conclude at the Exeter Town Hall, where there will
speakers from local organizations speaking about homelessness in the Seacoast
Area. Walk begins at 6:30 (New Teen Outlook Center) with the Program at the
Town Hall 7:00-8:00.
Benefiting the Maria Pearl Miller Scholarship Foundation and hosted by
choruses from EHS & CMS featuring World Class Tenor, Mr. John Sandor. Sunday,
February 11, 2007 2:00 pm at the Exeter High School Auditorium. Cost is
$12.00 adults and $8.00 students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at EHS
and CMS.
The SAU Joint Chairs meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 17th at 5:00 PM
has been canceled.
The EHS Chorus is holding an Electronics Recycling Fundraiser on January 20th
to support a spring trip to Florida. View

Effective Thursday, January 11, 2007 all future ERCSD Board meetings will be
held at the new Exeter High School (315 Epping Road) in the Roy Morrisette
Alumni Room. Thursday, January 11, 2007 7:00 PM, the ERCSD Public Hearing on
the FY 2008 Proposed Budget and Draft Warrant Articles, followed by the
regular ERCSD Board Meeting, will be held at this new location.
Rehearsals have begun and over 140 students are involved both onstage and
behind the scenes. Performances are scheduled for March 8th @ 7pm, March 9th @
7pm and March 10th @ 1pm. The production is being directed by Ms. Hammon and
Ms. Ramsay with Mr. Kobb as Tech. Director and Ms. Legere as Set/Production
Designer.
The Lincoln Street School Fifth Grade Drama Club is presenting Disney's
Aladdin Jr. with performances on Dec. 6 and 7th at 6:30 pm and Dec. 7 & 8 at
10 AM. Performances will be held in the LSS Cafeteria.
The EHS Drama Club will be performing Grease on Friday December 8 at 7:00pm
and Saturday December 9 at 7:00pm in the EHS Auditorium. Adults $2.00 and
Students $1.00.
The FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is available in the EHS
Guidance Office for seniors applying for financial aid for college. Students
and parents can also submit their application via the internet by accessing
the following website: www.fafsa.ed.gov.
This form cannot be submitted until after January 1, 2007 but should be
completed and sent as soon as possible in the month of January to satisfy the
many February deadlines in financial aid. The Profile is also a financial aid
process that some colleges require in addition to the FAFSA - Profile
registrations are ongoing.
Skip the baking this year and purchase fresh holiday pies for your December
holiday parties to benefit Project Prom/Graduation Class of 2007!

Deadline to order is Wed, Dec 6. Pie pick-up at the EHS lobby 12/22 from
8 to 2 PM and later in day at 14 Cross Road, Exeter.
EHS Juniors will be taking New England Common Assessment (NECAP) tests on
November 14 and 15. These tests will eventually replace the 10th grade tests
we have been used to for the last several years. On both days the tests will
take approximately 3 hours. Test coordinator is Assistant Principal Carol
Mastacouris.

a Gathering for Girls, grades 6-8 on Saturday Nov. 4 from 9-3:30.

The EHS Guidance department will host a financial aid night on Thursday,
November 16, 2006 at 6:30pm. Mike Spillane from the UNH Financial Aid Office
will be the guest speaker.
Donate to a great cause and properly recycle those old electronics. Saturday
October 28 from 8am to 1pm at the Exeter Town Hall you have a chance to
dispose of computer and household electronics for a reasonable fee.

Juniors and Seniors interested in learning more about their career strengths
are encouraged to sign up for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery
in the Guidance Office. This will be given Monday, October 2nd at 7:30 AM in
classroom #1 in the Library and will run through period 5. Traditionally, the
A.S.V.A.B. has been used for those students interested in the military.
However, this can be a valuable tool for those upperclassmen who are undecided
in their career path. If you have any questions, please talk with Mr.
Hartranft in Guidance. Sign-ups will be limited to 15 students.

House on Sunday, September 24th. The dedication is open to the public and
there will be building tours at 12:00 and 2:00. The dedication ceremony begins

Carolyn Kelley, SST Biotechnology teacher, has been awarded this year's New
Hampshire Teacher of the Year. Ms. Kelley has been teaching for nine years,
the past five years at the Seacoast School of Technology. She was instrumental
in designing the biotechnology program at the school. Under her leadership the
biotechnology program has been inspirational to students across the region.
Biotechnology has attracted students at all academic levels who want to pursue
a career in the sciences. Carolyn has the ability to reach each of these
students and she does not allow any of them to fall behind. In receiving this
award, Ms. Kelley becomes New Hampshire’s candidate for National Teacher of

The Guidance Department at Exeter High School will sponsor a Senior College
Planning Night on Thursday, September 14, at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium at EHS.
The program will focus on the college search process featuring guest speaker
Mr. Jay Hauser from the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation.
Parents are encouraged to attend this program with their child.
Greg Kann, Chair of the Exeter Region Cooperative School Board, has announced
that the dedication of the William Ball Stadium at the new Exeter High School,
315 Epping Road, Exeter will take place on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 6:45
PM at the Stadium. The dedication will be prior to the Exeter – Alvirne
Football Game at 7:00 PM. The board is pleased to share that Governor John
Lynch has agreed to say a few words and toss the coin for the opening of the
game. As appreciation to all of the fans and community members for their
support of the new high school and athletic complex, there will be no
admission charged for the football game that evening.
The Chairs Meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 5:00 PM in the SAU
conference room.
NHIAA awarded EHS the 2005-06 Class L Sportsmanship Award. This is presented
annually to a school who has demonstrated a high degree of sportsmanship
throughout the year and this is the 5th time EHS has been the recipient.
The meeting scheduled for Wed. Aug. 30th has been cancelled and the next
meeting will be Wed. Sept. 13th at 7pm in the EHS cafeteria.

Friday September 8th the new football stadium will be dedicated at 6:45 with a
7:00 game with Alvirne High. Sunday September 24th will be the high school
open house and dedication from 12-3 when the public is invited to tour the new
building.
At last night's ERCSD Board meeting, the board unanimously approved the
Purchase and Sales Agreement that was negotiated by the ERCSD negotiating team
and Squamscott Community Commons (SCC).
