CMS Music in the Parks Festival

On Saturday May 20, 2006 ensembles from the Cooperative Middle School, Stratham, NH participated in the Music In The Parks Festival, in Agawam, MA. CMS sent four choruses and one band to perform for adjudication and / or ratings. The seven busses, with over three hundred students departed the middle school at 5:00 AM and arrived for performances that began at 8:20 AM.

Schools from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and five of the six New England States participated in this festival.

The CMS choruses performed for competitive ratings and these are the results:

Sixth Grade Chorus – Upper Elementary Division – First Place - Superior Rating.
Seventh Grade Chorus – Middle School Division – First Place – Excellent Rating.
Chamber Choir – Advanced Middle School Division – First Place – Excellent Rating.
Eighth Grade Girls Choir – Junior High Division – First Place – Good Rating.

The CMS Choral Music Department – Overall Junior High/Middle School Choirs – Outstanding Program Award

This is the first year the band participated and performed for ratings only. They received an Excellent rating with the second highest overall band score.
