Parents’ Advisory
Council at SST to Meet
On October 20th, 2004
PACT group to discuss ideas to increase opportunities for student’s at the Seacoast School of Technology
The first meeting of the Parents’ Advisory Council for Teachers (PACT) at the Seacoast School of Technology will be Wednesday, October 20th, at 6:30 p.m. in the SST Conference Room. PACT is a group of parents and SST staff that meet several times during the school year to discuss student-related issues of parents and teachers. The group also works closely with the SST staff to increase the opportunities available to students in such areas as career and technical education program visibility, scholarships, and program improvement.
“SST is able to continuously improve our school and programs because we like to receive feedback on how we are doing“according to SST Principal Nancy Pierce. “The most effective way for parents to do this is to attend our PACT meetings. We are not a PTA and we hope many parents will get involved to help us continue our goal of student success at SST!”
The PACT organization at SST is also the group that reviews scholarship applications in May and awards the annual PACT scholarships. PACT also assists other civic organizations that give scholarships to SST students with their selection process.
