AUTOMOTIVE INTERNS HONORED AT SST RECEPTION

Exeter New Car Dealers Make Donation To Automotive Service Technology Program

Fourteen Automotive Service Technology students at the Seacoast School of Technology in Exeter were honored recently for their summer internships at a number of local dealerships. The students worked alongside their technician/mentor during the summer expanding their technical competencies and learning the latest developments in the automotive industry. The internships are part of the Automotive Youth Educational Systems program at SST. The AYES program assists students by providing the latest training and equipment, while dealerships help fill their need for experienced automotive technicians.

Parents and guests at the Automotive Intern Reception were welcomed by Principal Nancy Pierce and congratulatory comments and presentations were made by SST Automotive Teacher Scott Jamieson, SST Career Advisor Marilyn Kellogg, and Automotive Advisory Committee chairman Michael Wentworth of Wentworth Volvo in Exeter.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of $5000 from the Exeter New Car Dealers Association to the SST Automotive Service Technology Program. The announcement of the donation was made by Exeter New Car Dealers President Sue McFarland Monahan.
