Stratham Elementary School has been led by Tom Fosher for 5 years, during
which time he's made his mark, providing stability to a school that had known
six different administrators in the previous ten years. Tom's people
skills are extraordinary; for instance, he knows every student - all 625 of them
believe it or not - by name. He makes each of them feel successful by
creating opportunities and memories unique to each of them. Tom believes
in open and honest communication, and fair treatment for all.
He is a respected instructional leader, a teach of teachers as well as a teacher of children, a mentor to the inexperienced and able to encourage veteran teachers to move forward in new directions.
Tom has been instrumental in implementing research-based programs that support his vision for his school, including Everyday Mathematics, the Responsive Classroom and the Empowering Writers curriculum.
... and Tom accomplishes all this in record time - no doubt partly due to the Red Sox watch he was wearing when we met him!
