Interim Superintendent Named
At the SAU 16 Joint Board meeting held on June 26, 2017 the Joint Board authorized the Joint Chairs to work with the Central Office Administrators to hire an Interim Superintendent for the 2017-18 school year. The Joint Chairperson, Travis Thompson, was authorized to sign a contract for the Interim Superintendent.
The Joint Chairs met on July 6, 2017 with the Central Office Administrative Team to discuss possible candidates. The general search criteria was someone with superintendent experience, recently retired and still holding New Hampshire superintendent certification. Several individuals met that criteria. I want to thank everyone involved in this process, most notably the SAU 16 Administrators and staff and those individuals who expressed a willingness to assist us during this challenging transition.
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Christine Rath has agreed to serve as our Interim Superintendent of Schools for SAU16. She will serve August 14, 2017 to June 30, 2018. Dr. Rath served as Superintendent of Schools for the Concord School District from January 2001 until her retirement in June of 2015. In addition, Dr. Rath’s experience includes serving as an Assistant Superintendent, High School Principal, Middle School Principal, and Teacher. In 2013, she was named New Hampshire Superintendent of the Year. On behalf of the Board Chairs and SAU 16 Central Office Administrators who participated in the search process, we are very pleased that Dr. Rath has agreed to serve as our Interim Superintendent.
