Safety Measures at SAU16
As leaders in SAU 16, school security and safety are a top priority. We consider the safety of your children and our staff when making decisions each day. Below is a list of the work we have done to support these efforts. Please know we continue to discuss ongoing security measures as part of our overall mission here in SAU 16.
Finalists for Superintendent Announced
School Administrative Unit 16 has named two finalists for its ongoing superintendent search. The two finalists are Mrs. Esther Asbell and Mr. David Ryan. Mrs. Asbell is currently the Assistant Superintendent for SAU 16. She has worked for SAU 16 since 2010. Mr. Ryan is currently a co-Superintendent in SAU 53, comprising the school districts of Allenstown, Chichester, Deerfield, Epsom, and Pembroke. Prior to that, Mr. Ryan was an Assistant Superintendent in Manchester, NH.
The SAU 16 Joint Board will be hosting a public “meet and greet” from 5pm to 6pm on Wednesday March 7, 2018 at the Exeter High School. Following the “meet and greet” the Board will be conducting public interview of both candidates. The Board hopes to reach a decision that night.

Health and Wellness Fair
Join us at the Exeter Area Health and Wellness Fair for a variety of information and health service opportunities. Community members are welcome. Biometric screenings are offered to SAU16 staff.

Joint School Board Resumes Superintendent Search
The SAU16 Joint School Board has announced that it has resumed its search to find the SAU’s next superintendent. A subcommittee of the Joint Board will be conducing initial interviews of potential candidates on Thursday, February 15, 2018. The interviews will be held in non-public session. Following the initial interviews, the subcommittee anticipates asking the candidates back for a second, public meet and greet and subsequent interview on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. The Joint Board hopes to offer the position to one of the candidates that evening.
